I love Target. It has everything. Need a quick grocery item? Check. How about a birthday card? Done. And vinyl records? Yep, with a cheesy Target exclusive Hype Sticker. Love them. So, Joe and I often pop into Target to pick up say, frozen DiGiorno pizza, but . . . end up drifting to the vinyl section, which happens to be back to back with the book section. Oprah Book Club Tarot Style
Oprah’s latest Book Club pick, her 100th, is Ann Napolitano’s Hello Beautiful. Hello Beautiful, the saga of the four Padavano sisters, working class Catholic Chicago girls trying to live up to parental and cultural expectations while at the same time pursuing independent lives, is an homage to Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women. Little Women is still my favorite book of all time, so if there was an homage out there, I was going to read it. I can’t say I read it with an open mind.
